Welcome to the all-new VIDLA blog!

vidla logoHi and welcome to the VIDLA blog!

VIDLA is short for ‘Vocalist International Distance Learning Academy’ and we are the leading providers of distance-learning courses for singing teachers and singers – and singers who want to be singing teachers!

We have a worldwide client base and a great staff of top-level, highly qualified and experienced tutors who have incredible track records in both education and performnace.

VIDLA’s Principal is Ria Keen, PhD, who has been at the forefront of vocal education in the UK for many years. She runs a busy private studio in Worcester, UK, and has a top-notch performance pedigree, including appearances at Blenheim Palace and The London Palladium. She has won a raft of awards both as a performer and as an educator, and was recently made a Lifetime Fellow of the WGMSC for her work in the field of alternative health practise.

VIDLA’s patron is Dena Murray – a leading exponent of contemporary vocal technique and highly successful author of two best-selling vocal technique books. Her third book is due out this autumn and we’ll let you have details when it’s released.

We also work in partnership with a wide range of exciting industry organisations, and we’ll be blogging about them separately, but for now we can tell you that they include Calamus Extension College, The VocalTutor Network, The Vocalist Studio, Vocal-Care.com, Blythe Valley Insurance, and Streamline Design.

Thanks for reading – and please be sure to bookmark this page and come back often!

All the best,

The VIDLA Team
