Sing Deep Notes, Don’t Hit High Notes

Words of wisdom from long-standing friend of VIDLA, Robert Lunte of The Vocalist Studio. In this video, Robert talks about the poor mental conditioning that makes singers think that they have to ‘hit high notes’ when in fact notes are just notes… it doesn’t matter whether they are high or low in pitch – it matters what we do in terms of vowel modification. Get the formant tuning / vowel modification right and you’ll be able to stop pushing and shoving for what you perceive as ‘high’ notes.
